Fall Fun!

We have had a wonderful weekend! On Friday we went with Aunt Aubree, Aunt Alie, and Nonnie to look for Aunt Aubree's wedding dress. She found one and she looks beautiful in it! Yay! Here is Kensleigh and Aunt Aubree.
On Saturday we went to Nonnie's house and had a great time carving pumpkins, playing dress up, eating, and spending time with family.

Today we went to church and now we are home and Kensleigh is enjoying a nap(: I love this little girl so much. She has been such a blessing to our lives. I can't help but smile everytime I look at her! Here are some comparison pictures. My what a difference a year makes!

Happy First Birthday Kensleigh!

I haven't blogged in a while I know, but we have had a lot going on at the Johnson house. First off, I would like to thank everyone for the prayers about me finding a job. I was blessed with the opportunity to go back to Ashland Elementary and teach Kindergarten. I knew the Lord would provide for our needs. It was hard to leave my sweet Kensleigh, but I am so very thankful. Other than that I have been working hard on birthday party planning for the last month. We survived the party, which took place this past Saturday, so now maybe I will have a little more time to blog. Can I just say that I cannot believe she is a year old today, but then again in some ways it feels like she has always been with us. I honestly cannot, nor do I want to remember life without her. So much has happened this past year. You have brought so much joy to our lives, and I love you more than words can say! You have learned so many new things. Your smile brightens my day always. I love to just sit and hold you and love on you, because I know these days are coming to an end. You are strong willed and you have a temper. You want what you want when you want it, but that probably has a lot to do with the fact that you are spoiled a little bit.  I didn't have mush hope for you to not be spoiled rotten; you were the first grandchild on both sides. You still are the sweetest girl I know though. You love your mommy and daddy and you give us hugs and kisses. You have just recently learned how to blow sugar and it is the sweetest thing. You love to play with your toys. You sleep pretty good. You go to bed around 9 and wake up around 6:30 on school days, but sometimes sleep till around 8 on the weekends. You are completely on whole milk now which you love. I wasn't sure how you were going to do, because your mama is not a milk drinker. I am so glad you love it though. I am trying to transition you to all table food, but you are a little bit of a picky eater. You seem to love junk food, but you don't want much to do with vegetables. Hopefully, once you get used to the taste you will like them a little more. We will find out your exact weight and height on Thursday, when we go for your 12 month check-up, so we will update stats then. As for now I am going to hold and love on my baby while she will still let me. Happy First Birthday sweet Kensleigh! I look forward to seeing what the next year has in store fpr us. I love you so much!

11 months, Chocolate Pudding and a prayer request

Kensleigh is 11 months old now. I can't believe it! Where does the time go?  She is learning new things every day. She can say Mama, Dada, Uh-oh, Bye-Bye, and Hey. She tries to say other things too, I just can't quite make it out. She can stand up all by herself and I think she will start walking anyday. Not quite sure on weight and height right now. We go back to the doctor on September 22 for her 12 month check up and I will report back then. She has 4 teeth and number 5 is starting to peek through. She is so much fun to play with and love on. Her personality has really started coming out during the past few months. I have been working real hard on planning her first birthday bash. It took me awhile to be ok with the fact that she is almost a year old but I am excited about her party. Yesterday we went to Nonnie's house and Kensleigh got to have some chocolate pudding! She really liked it, but who doesn't like chocolate right! We had a good time spending time with family and friends. I am really enjoying the extra time I have had to spend with my sweet girl, but I am still praying for a job. I ask that all of you keep us in your prayers as well. I know that God has a plan. I also want to ask you to keep my sister and her husband in your prayers as well. They need prayers for strength and comfort to get through a difficult time. Kensleigh will not be getting a baby cousin yet. God has something else in store for them. Thank you all in advance for keeping them in your prayers. I will leave you with some pictures of my sweet girl! Well, for some reason they went to the top of the post! Like I have said, I am new to this blogging thing!

My Sweet Baby Girl!

Where do I begin? Kensleigh, you are so precious to me. I can not begin to describe the love that I have for you. Only another mother can understand this kind of love. You are growing up way to fast. Your mama would like it if you could slow down just a little. Since this blog wasn't started until you were 10 months old, I will go back and talk about some of the wonderful things that have happened in your life since you were born. First, I must share the story of the fearful snakebite that your mama got while I was pregnant with you. This was the scariest moment of my life by far. I was so scared that I would lose you, but God answers prayers and I am so thankful to everyone that prayed and that you were born beautiful and healthy. You came into our lives on September 20, 2010 at 12:28 p.m. and I was so excited when I finally got my hands on you. You weighed 8lbs. 1 oz. and you were 19 inches long. You have grown so much since then. You now weigh 21lbs 6 oz.and you are 29 inches long give or take a few. You love to play with your toys! Your favorite ones or the ones that make noises. You have started learning to love on your baby. It is so sweet. You will bring her up to your face and give her hugs. You are already off of your bottle, which is a great accomplishment. Now we just have to work on your paci! That may be a little harder. You will stand up and walk all around as long as you are holding on to something. You love jewelry, and try to take it from anyone that will allow you to. You have four teeth, two on the top and two on the bottom. You have started eating some table food, but you also still eat baby food mostly. You have been to the zoo and the beach for the first time and I can't wait to take you on many more adventures. We found out recently that you are going to have a baby cousin, and I can't wait to see how you will react once he or she gets here. I am sure you will be a little jealous at first, but ya'll will become the best of friends. Kensleigh, you are the best thing that has happened to your Daddy and me and we can't even remember what life was like before you. You have filled a hole in our hearts that we never even knew was there.  We love you so much!

I am joining the blogging world!

Well, I have finally decided to join the blogging world. I have been a little hesitant about it because I was not sure if I would have time to keep one up or not. Then I decided it is a really great way to keep up with memories and milestones so I am giving it a shot. It may be a slow process, but I am trying. I still haven't figured out how to get a cute little sidebar so any tips on that would be appreciated. I have lots of things to blog about so here we go!
